NAIROBI, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Former Kenya Sevens captain Humphrey Kayange will miss the start of the new International Rugby Board (IRB) World Series, which start in October after he sustained a ligament injury.


Kenyan doctors have ruled out Kayange for at least three months,


which makes it hard to get back in form and play for the national team in the IRB World Series.


""We have checked on his injury which shows a ligament tear. And the initial report we can tell you is that it an injury that will have him out for a couple of days or months maybe we will be able to review his recovery in three months,"" team doctor Karen Schwabe said late Wednesday.


""But still even if he has recovered, he still need to get the match fitness to return to the squad. However, there should be no reason for concern, we have enough replacement and cover to start the season with.""


Head coach Paul Treu is increasingly coming under pressure to deliver his first title with the team. He took over amid the season and helped the team finish seventh in the IRB World Series.
